Im 23 years old, my mother works in Australia. I finished my course recently, therefore my mother decided to take me to aus as her dependent to settle there.. The problem is, having to part from my boyfriend. I have been going out with him for the past 4 years. once i go there, i do not know when i can come back to my country or see him again. my family hates our relationship, so there is no way they will let me come back for a good few years.
I would like to know if it is possible to get married secretly and then i go to aus as my mother's dependant. would there be any legal problems if i do this? would my visa get cancelled?
I dont want to miss the opportunity of going to aus, as it will be good for both our future. so i have to find an alternate suggestion to save our relationship.

There's no way you can secretly get married. If you file paperwork to become married, you're considered married. Your mom would not be able to claim you as a dependent after marriage. You're considered a dependent with your husband. You'll have to file your own paperwork to migrate to Australia. |

Yes, there will be a problem for this. Since you got your visa as a dependent of your mother and your status for when you applied was single. Once they find out, there will be ramifications of your actions. You might even be barred from immigrating there in the future.
I suggest you need to sit down and talk to your family about your relationship. They might have a very good reason why they oppose to it. Listen to them and decide whether keeping the relationship is better for you in the long run. If you decide to choose your boyfriend, then you better be prepared living a life independently of your family. |
