At present, ILLEGAL ALIENS are still ILLEGAL ALIENS... and they want more now... and that shows you that they would be even more demanding and a bigger criminal burden as legalized citizens of the USA.

Deportation and closed borders are the answer for a better America....

Why would anyone thinking clearly, consider giving those criminals amnesty without an oath of allegience? Just what we need, citizens with loyalty to another country.... Bull SH!T to that noise.... NO AMNESTY, NO Citizenship for illegal aliens.

I think they would be thrilled with amnesty.....They are not even seeking citizenship, but only a legal way to exist and work in this country.....If a illegal was granted amnesty, one the requirements for me, would be they would not be allowed to seek welfare....That would weed out all the one's only here for that purpose....

I think you'd have to ask them - and you can't lump them all together. Some have been here for 50 years and, in my opinion, deserve it, as long as they're not child molesters or the like. It's my understanding that THEY hate the illegal swarm coming across the borders now just as much as I do (white, female, middle-aged Republican attorney.)
Something MUST be done to "fix" this. My Counties' economy has been devastated by willy-nilly round-ups of illegal migrant workers - conveniently made just recently - right when the crops are ready to be picked.
I'd also like to see SOME attention paid to the Canadian border (waving across the Niagara River now). THAT is the easiest way in for terrorists and drug dealers.
And will someone now PROHIBIT small aircraft from flying down the East River? I had no idea such a ridiculous thing was even allowed - now, I'm sure all the bad guys know the best way to "hit us" next time.

I don't have THE answer - but I'd start with everybody receiving "Public Assistance" should get out there and start picking so we don't starve because our taxes are through the roof to pay for their food stamps while perfectly good food rots on the vine. There are plenty of Americans out there sitting on their porches who COULD do the work the illegals are doing - they just don't WANT to. Boo-hoo. It's "beneath" them. PICK UP A MOP!!
P.S. Why does Welfare allow unmarried mothers to stay home to raise their children to a certain age? I had to go to WORK to pay rent, buy food and other essentials for my child. I think they've modified this provision a bit - but it sure pissed me off when I was prosecuting Welfare Fraud criminals. There I am WORKING - after high school, College, Master's and Law School - while they cheat the system and are paid to stay home and my son is in Day Care. Something wrong there. Maybe I just had a different set of values. My son has been and is learning the value of a job well done. Which is MUCH MORE than a paycheck. It's DIGNITY!!

yes, so those who are really serious about wanting to assimilate and work here can pay taxes and come out of the shadows. for those who commit crimes e.g., child molesters, etc, we'll know who they are and where they are and it would be easier to track them down.

Why judge all people as a whole? Some would be very happy with it and others would want more. I say, amnesty for those who want to come here to escape a life of poverty or persecution if they are really making the effort to become productive members of society and we should do all we can to help them become legal residents. Those who complain and cause problems should be sent back home.

America is the country of immigrants. Just in case if you didn't know there is a quote of how many immigrants can come to the USofA every year LIGALY from all around the world. Unfortinatly that number is low. You know why? Because it adjusted for the number of ILLIGAL aliens. So in a nutshell... because of the (mostly) mexican illigal aliens America can not gain immigrants from other contries, who might bring not just a minimal wage workforce, bt brains as well.

Amnesty would be a good start for "World Domination" that Mexico wants.

Amnesty would allow for all the now illegals, to get on social services and bring their relative to America.

Social services now cost Americans, $70 BILLION DOLLARS a year. That cost would TRIPLE if Amnesty were given.

The consensus among the ones that I have discussed this issue with are okay just with Amnesty.......Not citizenship. The Mexicans are a very proud people..... who would feel like betraying their country IF THEY JUST PLEDGED ALLEGIANCE TO ANOTHER. They love their country. I deal with about 20 Hispanic Legal and Illegal People everyday in my line of work and am held in high esteem in the Hispanic Community in my area and this is the reason that I feel at liberty to ask these questions and they trust me and answer them. ENQUIRY MINDS WANT TO KNOW. OR MAYBE JUST THE WOMAN IN ME BEING NOSY.

Don't forget 'Americans' or English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, were once not only illegal Immigrants, but hostile illegal immigrants who took a land by force and not diplomacy.

are you kidding me, of course they would be happy with amnesty, some might want more but i think the majority of the immigrants would be happy that they can continue to work and not have to go back to their dirt poor lives where they can't support their families.

Absolutely!! They are already here!! and lets face it, you cant deport them all, and who doesnt want more than what they have?! Of course theyre gonna want more, thats human nature but do you have to give it to them?! NO!! They are already demanding more. One payback you may see is future demands for back pay from employers who have thus far escaped the minimum wage requirements. For that i would support them. The desires of the majority of U.S. citizens is being totally ignored in this by our representatives. After this election is behind them our 'leaders' will run amnesty down our throats and they know we will forget about it by the next election.
