Yes! They had to be rounded up in the 1950's when the economy was 10 times better than today. |

Not at all. We do not want the criminal illegal aliens invading our country. The economic condition of this country makes no difference. Illegal is illegal.
Round up and deport. |

I wouldn't care if I was mega bucks rich, traveled to europe on a regular bases, and owned several homes. I would still not want illegals here living off my tax dollars, commiting crimes and getting away w/ it. Either come here the legal way or not at all. |

It would still be an issue. The word "illegal" says it all. There are plenty of people out there to work the jobs illegals are doing, except for the lousy wages paid. Immigrants are always welcome in the USA, as long as they come in legally. |

Yes. To most Americans, its about more than money. Its about respect & laws... things that are disappearing from our society very quickly. |

Yes, illegal immigration would still be a sore issue ... as has been pointed out ad nauseam, illegal is illegal, against the law. Just because millions of people decide to break the law doesn't mean it's OK! In case people are wondering, we still have immigration laws, and these laws are meant to be enforced! If we don't like the laws, we change them, but until they're changed, they're still the law of the land!
On another note, chances are the American economy would be in a better shape without having to support an untold number of illegals of course ... :) |

to late already there!
most familys dont have a roof over their heads so I think we are in a depression not going too be.
As for the illegals yes it would be sore just not as sore. I for one am tired of not being able to get a job and why cant I because they can get 3 illegals the the price they pay me. I had McDonalds tell me I was over qualified ( ya I can speak english) that is so bs.
It ranks up there with giving driving test in other languages when ALL road signs are in english ( real safe ) but hay they have a hard life so why not give them business with no tax's and welfare to boot. You know they cant buy groceries after there 400$ suit.
( I have seen this Happen they show up in 70,000$ cars with 800$ suits and get FOODSTAMPS) and you ask if we are headed for a depression What clued you in? |

We would still be paying out billions for them, no matter what the economy. The fact that they are marching for rights that they are not entitled to would still be infuriating. The fact that they get rights they should not be entitled to would still be infuriating. The crime rate would still be infuriating. Businesses that go under would still be infuriating. Yes, it would still be an issue. |

Yes, it would still be an issue. It is not a matter of what our economy is like it is a matter of right and wrong.
Part of the problem is a lack of assimilation. They sneak in demand handouts then want us to speak their language and cater to their needs. Instead of being grateful, how do they repay us, in crime, burning our flag and protesting in the streets. Yeah, we all really want to embrass that! We are sick and tired of pressing #1 for English! |

Illegal is still illegal! I don't want to support those who have no respect for our nation or it's laws. I believe that they are contributing to the downfall of our economy! They need to go. Deport, deport, deport! |

A Depression? The signs do NOT indicate that.
It became a sore issue when they paraded around on our streets, waving their flags and telling us to go to hell, they're here to stay. |

You can't connect the dots? One thing has everything to do with the other. Illegal immigrants are one of the causes if this depression.
Illegal aliens cause wage reduction by working for less and over populating the supply over demand for the jobs that they do. In effect they have even began cutting wages on other illegal aliens.
Another issue is over population in general. The infrastructure of this country cannot bear the load caused by illegal immigration. Some examples are.... over crowded freeways and roads, 30+ kids in a class(not enough schools), Our national parks are over crowded beyond description, water is in short supply, sewage treatment plants will soon be over burdened, jails and prisons are overflowing, just to name a few.
So yeah, all other points aside it would still be a sore issue with me no matter what the economy was doing. |

Everyone else is crazy...but me!

People REALLY started getting pissed off about illegal immigration after the Mexicans were shown marching under their own country's flag, on our soil, earlier this spring. Before this, we didn't really know-or care-about it. But actually SEEING with our own eyes the drop-in-the-bucket representation of all the rest of them, and then hearing them actually DEMANDING things...it was too much, and America started to stir.
The amnesty legistlation that came down the pike from Congress, in conjunction with the marches by all those illegals, is what has us up in arms. The state of the economy is NOT the issue, though pro-illegal commentators want to blame our bad temper with illegals and their coddlers, on it.

They are the #1 cause of our countrys issues>From job lost to fraud>Health care> the list is long>That why 200+million forced the GOV to defeat the amnesty bill sellout supported by the DEM's. It is the biggest issues>Illegals will leave> |

Part of the problem is the illegals, they take out of our school system, hospital emergency room closing down, and crime up, they are displacing american workers with cheap labor all the while prices of gas are up, manufacturing jobs here are closing down and going over to china, what business are left are service jobs. Its hard not to blame the illegals when you are a father put out of a job, losing ones home, car and having to depend on family. My son in law business is one that went away due to illegals undercutting him. We get to pay for wellfare for the illegals plus, my son in-laws family.
Double wammy for the american tax payers.. |

Possibly, but I doubt it would be anything less of an issue in the county I live in... |

But our economy is Fabulous my dear, simply Fabulous!
Ask GWB. He'll tell you.
What goes up, must come down. It's the nature of life. And the economy.
It'll go up again, unless a Democrat is elected. Then, we'll have to wait a while. |

In the last Depression they used marijuana as a reason to kick them out.. That's why they made it illegal in the first place. Before the depression they needed the extra help working the fields, but when the depression happened more americans were willing to do those jobs. So they had to think of an excuse to kick them out. When we can accomodate them everything is hunky dory but when we're in a squeeze it's adios Mexicans.
The bigots that come on here are so ignorant it's pathetic. |
