I found it ironic that Ted Kennedy was given an honorary knighthood, most Irish Catholics would rather be driven off a bridge and left for dead than accept an honor from England.

I would at least give Deva Kumarasiri a pat on the back, knighthood is comparable to the Presidential Medal of Honor here in the USA, so you'd have to do much more than that. I suspect he'll be fired and persecuted by the likes of Britain's equivalent of CAIR, and the Labour Party will throw him over board faster than a drunken Kennedy swimming away from a car wreck...

I can see where he is coming from, but he cannot set his own rule. its govt must set rules like this. if majority of Britishers feel that way, they should vote a party that can do that and that's how democracy work, remember?
You cannot refuse a public service because u feel like for XYZ reason, no matter how valid it is to you, unless it is sactioned by law.

This problem would not have been there if English test was mandatory when these people who could not speak English were given citizenship. They have introduced english test now but its a tad bit late.

No, definitely not. If he was white, everyone would hate him for being racist, but because he's foreign too, then it's considered OK and good. I think it's really unfair that he's not allowing people to use the post office just because they can't speak English. English isn't the easiest language to learn and especially if someone has only just moved here, they wouldn't have had time yet to learn the language. I think it's really unfair.

I have two Daughters living in different parts of Spain, I am a Scot, I visit them a lot.
I can speak maybe 10 words of Spanish, I must be one of those trouble making Scots?
I have never been refused service anywhere in Spain, we can communicate, they are very helpful.
And is it only Muslims that dont speak any English?
