a temporary stop to immigration would help the situation but beyond that, controlling immigration is the way forward. we need to find out who is here before allowing more to come here. last i heard we had around 3/4 of a million illegals running around and they are not on benefits so what are they doing? cash in hand work for a lot less than minimum wage so how does that help the economy? we need to fast track deportation for illegals and migrants who commit crimes here. we also need to stop migrant workers flooding in and sending our money home. migrants settlers should be permitted providing they can support themselves and not claim from the state. australia has the right idea when it comes to immigration. i dont mind foreign settlers from anywhere providing they are prepared to pay their own way just as most of us do.

yes i agree, thats one of the reasons the country is in recession, these immigrants work for the money then send it all back home to their country, so there countrys are getting the benifits not the UK.

So they want to grant them "amnesty" and give them a fast track, ahead of people who OBEYED the law . . . and applied from the country where they live.

It shows what party is about obeying the law and what party is about pandering for votes.

WE cannot halt it because Immigrants get into Britain on the back of lorries etc. Once they are here, we are obliged under the Geneva Convention to care for them. Unfortunately it will not stop until This Government increase the Immigration controls on the Other side of the Channel, But only last year they reduced the Immigration staff.

Immigrants are hard working people with lot of responsibility. They just don't come to your country for entertainment. They come on purpose ,leaving back there families. Any one can work any where until he is hard working. What is wrong in competing with hard working people and getting job?

Nope. That would be the biggest hypocrisy ever. USA was built on it. not only that but if you look at it. Most of our hard labourers are immigrants. apples and textiles would shoot through the roof because most americans wont work for minimum wage. It would kill our economy as American made products would shoot through the roof in price.
