Yes I think columbus has a lot to answer for. |

Trust Me
 |
NO WAY! We'd have all those Yanks in Britain!
(just kiddin Americans!) |
|

justme
|
Not better off, just different |
|

|
Probably not -
But I offer to you that if the Native American Indian culture had influence in the Pentagon America and possibly the World would be a calmer more reflective place in which to live.
Best Wishes |

Then where would all of the "sick, the tired the hungry" have gone. |

Somebody said if we want the world ruled by dictators and comunists.
Well, our country is STILL RULED by comunists and dictators. Therefore, I don't think it would make a difference
Oh, the inventions from the USA. Most have been made by immigrants.
Werner Von BRAUN, Nikola Tesla, Karl Steinmetz, Albert Einstein, and many others
Now other countries like China , are better funding the sciences, whereas the yanks are cutting them and screaming against immigrants.
Ha !
This way, the USA will soon be a hot dog and beer cafeteria |

Works for me, I say pull within our borders and no more foreign aide and no more funding the World food bank, I say feed our own! |

No...just the american government. |

I don't really care to be honest, although it would mean there'd be a lot more stupid people in England.
Quite a few of you Americans answering this question are labouring under the illusion that the rest of the world would be still living in the dark ages if it wasn't for all your marvellous inventions. Hahaha, what inventions would these be then? Please could someone enlighten me? |

It would be a lot different but it could be a lot worse. |

Farah C
 |
urm, im afraid to answer....
actually i can't even imagine that.
thing is it could have been 'worse'. |
|

wolfie
|
Things would be the same but the biggest bully in the world would be a different country.
We'd still have capitalism and imperialism so there wouldn't be any difference! |
|

joyce k
|
no, not really. |
|

Han Y
|
No, because as a superpower there are insurmountable benefits to America being, well, America. Just the same as Great Britain, China and Russia are beneficial (if not tense).
Would the world be better off without arrogant Americans who seem to think they won the two world wars single-handedly? Of course. |

In short - Yes |

NO NO NO. Maybe it would be better off if you weren't around on here asking such daft questions. America helped us the Brits in WW2, and helps all over the world even now. They would be richer and far better off if they didn't. Their country can sustain itself as it has everything it needs as it is a self producing country. |

WTF? No. This is the land of opportunity, and the greatest place in the world to live and raise a family. |

In short, No. |

Tell you what, think about all the opportunities you have had living in this free country, think about all of the liberated people in Europe that benefited from America's efforts in two world wars, think about all of the technological & medical advances our system of economy has allowed to take place, and consider all of the millions of people who have been imprisoned and killed for speaking out against their governments in other countries, and then answer your own question. |
|

|
yeah |
|

Daisy
|
Well i dont really think so. Think about all the technology, medical, government, ect. advances that have been made here. We've been first to do a lot of things. The world would definatly be different. Better or worse? Who knows, so why even worry about it? |
|

Annihilator1986
|
Yes it would have been better if you wanted the world to be run by dictators, drug cartels and communists then fershizzle. Its better not to have a united states of america. |

The inventions of American scientists and engineers has improved the quality of life around the world. We power the economies of several countries. Socially, we haven't played nice in the past, but we still have the future to make up for our ancestors' mistakes. Also, Europe would have simply colonized the U.S. and it would have made for a violent land grab when Britain lost control of its territories. |

No because we would never have Barack Obama as President |
