I wish everyone who wanted to be in this country was required to learn english and forced to get citizenship. My friend married a woman who just got her citizenship last year. I love her. I think illegal immigrants either don't know they are now illegal, (because of weird laws) or really needed to escape their country. We have better opportunities here, and we should have better laws to help people immigrate easier once they are in the country. I know illegal immigrants cause all these problems.. But have you ever spoken to one? and listened to why they came to this country? Everyone here is Immigrants except Native Americans. SO we should be doing more to help people gain citizenship. BUT I think we need more security to keep people out as well. And when they are held at the boarders to be thrown back into their country or on a plane/ship, they should sit in a class to hear about how to legally immigrate or something. I feel so bad for good people having to leave. And to find out, they have been here since they were children but their parents never did what they were suppose to for citizenships. There is two sides to every story, and everyones story is different. BUT As for you, you should be able to get public assistance, you are pregnant! But what education do you have? what experience do you have? I feel bad when people cant find jobs, but I have barely any experience, and seem to get a job every time I do an application, and I am only 20. SO GOOD LUCK~! And I hope you find a job or some assistance. CONGRATS ON THE BABY!! Is it a boy or girl>?

It will be difficult to find a job being 6 months pregnant because employers know you will be missing some work very soon but I do agree that illegals are driving down the wages for legal workers.
Take the assitance in the meantime, we who work deserve it just as much as those who milk the system.

If you are unemployed and are in need of public assistance for a while, apply for it. Why? Because you, as a hard working American citizen, you have paid in plenty in taxes over the course of your time working to more than make up for a temporary need for public assistance. Better someone like you, who needs it, than someone who not only doesn't truly need it, or is in any way entitled to it.

For the oeople that illegals can't get welfare.... did you know that there are only a few states, two that I know of, that require that you show proof of citizenship in order to get welfare? Michigan and I believe Nebraska. That's it. Anyone else, including illegals, can walk into any welfare office and get welfare.

Illegals can not collect welfare and unemployment. That is why they steal identities.

They use other peoples social security numbers. I know people at my work who have had there identity stolen by illegals.

I know people that work with illegals that claim the most tax exemptions so they pay the least amount of taxes with their paychecks. They leave the tax bill to the unsuspecting person that had their identity stolen.

I don't think illegals can qualify for welfare. Don't you have to present proof of your legal status? Social security card? Birth certificate? Green card?

I'd rather see people return home and use the legal method of immigrating to this country. I also know people come from all over the world and STAY rather than do that. Its been happening for generations. I don't see how we eradicate it without putting an ankle bracelet on every foreign visitor and building a security wall around the entire country.

BTW, the wall idea doesn't work. Ask China.

Neither I would rather have americans learn proper grammer and become more aware of how things work. Immigrants (legal and non) generally dont take american jobs. They take the jobs Americans dont want as nannies, housekeepers (think Rosie from Will & Grace), etc. Most of the people in your local restaurants are legal immigrants or US citizens!!

American wages have decreased because the machines we created can do the same work thaat lazy people do more efficiently w/o breaks. It is our own ingenius that has eliminated jobs in fact.

You might want to focus on teaching your baby a silent prayer every night and thanking GOD for the gift that he/she is. You also might want to go apply for public assistance before you give birth and incur a huge bill that puts you into debt and more angry at those whom you believe do not deserve to receive assistance

Get a job!!! I don't want to subsidize anyone, much less an illegal alien, excuse me, undocumented individual. But I have a caveat, because I want them to pay taxes. Get a job and pay taxes, just like everyone else here.

I don't want them out. I want them legalized and integrated into society properly. Then they have to take the bad (taxes) with the good (jobs).

I don't buy into this "they took our jobs" (said like in South Park) crap. We are capitalists here, are we not? It is all in the spirit of competition which makes our world go 'round. As for you, you likely are having trouble because you are obviously preggers. Why would they hire you just to put you on maternity leave? They must think about that when considering employing you.

As for assistance, you've paid your taxes and been a good member of society. Take it while you need it. As long as you are trying to get on your feet, don't feel guilty. Do your best to take care of yourself and drop the gov't programs when you no longer NEED them.

And teh reason you are likely not getting a job is because you are preggers. I'm in the same boat. Got laid off when I was 8 weeks along and no one wanted to hire me. So, I just do what I can.

If you need to collect assistance, then do so. You will pay taxes again and you will get back on your feet. right now though, you need to take care of you and that baby.

You are under the impression that every person who seems foreign is illegal. That is a bigoted idea. Most "aliens" are hard working individuals who are trying to make a living. They often take the undesirable jobs.
If you have been working hard for years, take your benefits and stay home for a while. Take the time to read and learn that our country is made up of people from all over the world. Each has been a wonderful addition to our country.

I would like to see illegal aliens demonstrate in their own streets---straighten their own countries out...like we did.

Sounds like you are blaming your obvious inability to get a job on others. It is always someone else's fault.

Being six months pregnant and trying to find a job is somewhat difficult. Very few employers will hire an obviously pregnant woman who in three months time will give birth and either leave the job or claim maternity leave.

Go to a woman's shelter, you sound like you have had a hard time of it. They will help with finding a job, apartment and counselling

I think you have more to worry about than aliens taking jobs from us...Quite frankly I would not hire a 6 month prego to do any job, the insurance would be to high ...plus the fact your going to want maternity leave , but if you want to pick tomatoes with all the illegals more power to you. I'd ask for the assistance till you get back on your feet and good luck to you and your new child.

Well, illegals DO pay taxes but do not have the advantage of collecting welfare. You can, however, and should, since you are having such difficulty finding a job. You should try looking for a job again about 1-2 months after you give birth. It is very possible, as sad as it sounds, that you are not getting hired because of the fact you are pregnant and will only be able to work for 2-3 more months. Just as you will get the hang of things you will have to leave.

Also, you don't exactly know that the illegals are stealing all of the jobs. You know, a lot of hispanic people DO have papers to be here. I'm not saying all, but you cannot assume that there are illegals in every place you want to work.. unless you plan on working out in the sunny fields picking veggies (which I don't suggest for a pregnant women to be sweating in the sun all day).

Anyways, I really don't like the fact of people collecting welfare, but in your case I approve because you will need money to support you and your baby. Good Luck!!

First of all this question shows just how racist and ignorant you are. If you knew anything about welfare you would know that it is bnot given out to illegal aliens, only citizens or residents get welfare.
