I would rather your question be :
Would you rather train ANOTHER PERSON to replace you,
or help create a machine or software to replace you?
You know what i mean? don't make the people to make diferences with that kind of questions, please.
Beside, this is something that won't be our choice, sooner or later there are activities in our work that will be filled with a machine. And it's been happening for a long time already. |

If you train a replacement, once the training is done, so are you. If they need someone to train a replacement for your replacement, they don't need you, just whoever is currently doing the job.
If you create a machine or software, there is always going to be an upgrade to that machine or a new version of the software not to mention bug fixing and maintenance.
I would go with the machine or software as that leads to a future. |

i am 50 yrs old i worked for one company [building motors] for 30yrs my job went to mexico in sept i am now trying to go to school maybe if i can become a nurse they won't send my job to mexico!!!!what makes me angry is i paid taxes all those years i didn't give up on my job yet if i ask for help till i get through school i'm told i'm not needy enough i 'm asking for handouts who do i think i am???? i've paid for them 30yrs why are they going to people that never have and never will pay taxes |
