Would you shoot an illegal if he tried to cross the border?

And what would your God (if you have one) think of you killing poor persons seeking a better life?
Additional Details
I only ask due to the large number of yeses to a similar question.

only if the illegal tried to come across with a weapon

Depends on whether or not he is armed or not, if he is armed and is on my private property I would shoot him. If hes not armed I call border authorities and wait for them to arrive.

no i wouldn't. even though i think people should come into the country legally, but i can understand where they are coming from. i mean if someone is willing to work a job as day laborer in order to have a better life, than things must really be bad where they are from. plus i like to think of myself as a human first and an American second so if i ended up seeing someone crossing the border i'd probably be more inclined to help them rather than do them harm.

Only if he or she tried to hurt me or my family then he or she would die.

No way, I will leave that type of horrible behavior for illegal aliens. God knows they lack morals.

Anyone who is a true human being, would never think of shooting an illegal. It doesn't matter what religion you are but who you are as a person.

Does a flame thrower count? How about a grenade launcher? Then yes!

I think this is less of a Political question and more of a Ethical one. The founding fathers of America would be very much against shooting an immigrant, legal or illegal. They believed that Life was a right all people had, not just Americans (Just look at the first part of the Declaration of Independence). The obvious political answer is no. Shooting an illegal would be going against the constitution and everything this nation was built on. The Ethical side in my opinion would also be no. Seeking a better life for themselves is not a crime that is punishable by death. A person with good morals should agree that helping the person do it legally would be the best. While I feel America is a place for all, even those people who want to keep immigrants out should at least give them the courtesy of sending them back where they came from and not shooting them on the spot.

No, but maybe I'd try to shoot God if I could see him/her/it. I doubt that'll happen though.
