Would you support a law that clean up Automatic birthright citizenship in the U.S.?
Find answers to your legal question.

Would you support a law that clean up Automatic birthright citizenship in the U.S.?

1.) Would you support a law that would not grant automatic U.S. Citizenship to children born in the U.S. by two (focus on 2) parents who are not here legally?

2.) Would you support a law that would deny U.S. Citizenship to children born in the U.S. by two (refocus on 2) who are here just on a temporary visa (work, vacation, student, and the list goes on)?

3.) Would you support a law that says only children born to U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident be considered natural born citizens?

Most definitely! And that's the way it would be right now, had some liberal nitwits not tossed in their own version of the intentions derived from the 14th amendment.... only true morons or libs... same thing, would interpret the 14th amendment as anything other than what it was intended to stand for.

Politically Correct
I would support ANY law that would have allowed my British children to remain just British.

They happened to be born in USandA through no fault of their own and are stuck with American citizenship as a result. Getting rid of it has turned out to be a nightmare for them.

They were FORCED to take American citizenship as tiny babies to LEAVE the country, never mind that they had valid passports for the country they were going to. What kind of country would do that? This law must be changed.

It is a vanity without equal anywhere in the world to think that all babies born in America would want to be an American. There are lots of us perfectly happy with the nationality we already have. Some even prefer it!

Yes, every two years or so someone presents a Birthright Citizenship bill that would mandate the exact restrictions you propose, but the Democratic leadership in Congress pushes them into committee where they die. Contact your representatives and demand that it be passed.

UK, Australia and NZ have ALL changed their laws to have these exact rules.

UK did this in 1983.
Australia and NZ only in the last 9 years.

these laws do prevent anchor babies from being legal and getting benefits to which they are NOT entitled.

Yes. There's a lot of countries, especially in old world, where the children receives the citizenship of their parents, not the one of the country. If I had been born in China, that doesn't make me chinese.

Yes, I certainly would...It is parents citizenship/nationality that is passed down to their children,..not place where they are born. Suppose a baby is born on a ship in middle of the ocean, that what nationality/citizenship does that baby have?...of course the citizenship of its parents, not citizenship of the ship upon which it was born.

Emotionally, yes.
I don't know the ramifications.
This would seem a no-brainer, now that we have done with taking in everybody from everybody.
Take down that stupid Statue of Liberty.
Nobody's free anymore anyway, though moreso than other palces, but seriously,
what with taxes, the "recession", and terrorism,
waht's the point?

1) No. It is not a law, it is the Amendment of US Constitution. It will take very long time and with enormous effort to change that.

2) No. Being born in US is not their fault. They had no choice.

3) Maybe.
