I wouldn't turn them in but I would use my education to convince them that what they are doing is wrong and try to help them fix the problem.

I would wonder what happened to my parents. Mine were law abiding so I would never had found myself in that predicament.

If my parents were illegals, I would be in prison. You see, knowing my parernts were criminals would have given me a distorted view of the laws in America. I would have avoided growing insurance rates by simply not being insured. I would have avoided taxes by working for cash or with a false ID (another crime) for my 1099's. Even if I knew my parents worked hard I would disrespect the law, because my parents say it's OK to do that....Surely by 17 I would have done SOMETHING more than a traffic violation to land me in a US prison under an assumed name. After sitting in said prison for several months I may built up enough resentment to, but I doubt I would turn my own parents in.

His parents had 17+ years to seek citizenship What Were They Doing? if they got deported i wouldn't feel sorry for them!

i would turn them in. just as if they were doing drugs, stealing or committing murder. crime is crime. lots of criminals have children and support them with there illegal actions.

No. They are my parents no matter what. I would very strongly try to convince them to be come legal in this country so as not to be deported. He was lucky he was born here and is eligible to attend college and make something out of his life. However, the funds for his college would disappear if his illegal parents were deported.

Cons of turning them in: It'll probably be a big help if they continue to work hard for him to get through college.

Pros: If they're deported, they don't get to take the car with them, do they?

Seriously, there's no way I'd turn my family in for illegal immigration! I never turned either of my parents in for speeding, either.

Something immoral, such as stealing or dealing drugs, I probably would. Illegal immigration is just illegal - it's not immoral.

Nothing. For the child to do that to their parents would be disrepectful, and it would also ruin his own life.

A friend that also knows of this situation should butt out. It's not their responsibility. And, their "information" is just heresay.

If this young man is your best friend, why would you do such a terrible thing to him and his family? To even think about such a despicable act would indicate that you are not HIS best friend. You need to keep out of this family's personal business. You must have discovered this fact because your friend told you. True friends know how to keep a confidence. Be a good friend and do not stand in the way of this young man's future; otherwise, you will be the enemy.
