No, all you need to do is fine them.... |

Yes but convince Big Business that they will not be able to hire Illegals at slave labor rates.........It would be a hard sell since big business controls the white house!!! |

I wouldn't vote for a bill that was that drastic, but I would vote for one that imposed heavy fines on companies that knowingly hired illegals. |

That's a bit harsh. I'm all for fining the greedy corporations $10,000 for every illegal ICE catches working at their place of business.
Don't hold your breath waiting for Bush to hire more ICE agents. That would hurt his corporate benefactors. |

I would be all for this kind of bill. But it will never happen. It should be happening now, they already have laws that cover almost anything. |

No, but I would vote for legislation to enforce penalties already in place. |

Without hesitation. I'm campaigning in my town to put them in jail for hiring criminals that, in addition, are enemies of the USA. |

Hell yes! The truth is I just want our politicians to bring legislation as strong as Mexico does for it's immigration policies. I would give them time even though they do not deserve it to comply with a strict new law. We want to keep them doing business here. What we do not want is undocumented aliens working in the US. After you warn them this is the way we all want it to be then if they do not comply close them down and seize their assets. |

Yes, I definitely would! And there should also be some decent fines and jail time for the knowing hirers and a criminal record. If they need criminally cheap labor in order to stay in business, then they have no right to be in business and should go under naturally. |

I don't think that's a practical approach, but your heart is in the right place.
I'd suggest HEAVY fines and imprisonment for the person responsible for hiring them. But to completely dissolve the corporation would cause problems for too many people, many of whom may have just invested in stocks from that corporation as part of their retirement plan. |

I am very anti-illegals but dissolving a corporation over it is not only severe but would cause major unemployment of citizens. Nothing hurts a corporation more than fines (lost money). Big fines that went up with each violation would stop the hiring of illegals. |
|

DAR
|
You need penalties. Disolving it is too easy to fix. You just form another entity and put in the assets of the old one. |

Absolutely. If they knowingly hire illegals they are breaking the laws of the land just as much as the illegal is and should be held accountable. I don't think it would take but one or two corporations and the rest would hire legal workers. |

Only if my intent were to destroy the American economy.
What good would it do to potentially: a) wipe out an American business, while also, b) throwing dozens, or hundreds, or thousands of American citizens into the ranks of the unemployed? |
|

Majority

Oh, yes, I would. |

How about just fines and jail time for the CEO and the person that hired them.
Why put many out of work for the crimes of a few. |

It sounds good - but it will never happen. We know that big business and government sleep in the same bed.
That's why the immigration issue will never be resolved. Government knows that commerce depends upon this cheap labor force and they are not going to do anything to impede it. That's why the ONLY thing that has ever happened in 60 years is amnest. |

dissolve and then jail |

so then you would be outraged even more if those corporations move over to India or China? At least those corporations pay taxes here not to the Chinese. |
