Writing to Jacqui smith MP re: immigration?

Hi, im planning to write to jacqui smith the home secretary regarding my partners immigration matter. he was removed from the uk last year for overstaying past his visa expiry. it has caused heartbreak for me and the children, he wants to come back on a visitors visa but obviously, the home office are unlikely to agree to this. i have visited him in his home country (jamaica) 3 times in the past year but i cannot live like this. writing to an MP is my last resort, i dont know what else to do, what should i write? and how likely am i to suceed in this plea?

i just have to say as someone that has gone through all the LEGAL routes and paid all the fees to get my visa LEGALLY ... it's people like you that make it hard for the rest of us.

and you are always the first people writing MP's expecting sympathy ... after BREAKING THE LAW!!!

in my mind, once you break the laws of a country which your boyfriend who is likely only with you for a visa has done ... you have no more rights in that country

but that is just my opinion ;)

EDIT - oh and by the way you know he got an automatic 5 year ban when he left don't you?

He overstayed his welcome on his last visa he has no chance and good for the home office removing him we have enough illegals here as it is

He over stayed so is not entitled to return to the UK for at least 5 years. No you will not succeed.

I would contact an immigration attorney first. It will cost money but isn't it worth it to try to get your family back together? You also may see swifter resolution through a legal channel rather than the red tape of government bureaucracy.

good luck the immigration rules and procedures in this country are a joke my man had a visa and applied to extend it but never heard back he then got put in prison for immigration offence and released he has then gone through 21 court hearings to get told they have no authority over the matter signed to go home in February last year but they wont let him and wont let him do anything have gone to solicitors but the immigration just ignore them , what are people supposed to do? and for all the people complaining about immigration how many English live in other countries? not everyone comes to get money from the government!! hope you get a good response but not sure you will get any
