Has any of you who ***** about illegals EVER read the US laws on immigration?
I did. The only ways to become a citizen is to marry someone for papers or to win a lottery. Adoption works if you have no living parents and you are under 18...
So all this whining " oh, they should come legally" is nonsense!!!
Why dodn't you read your laws before you speak?
Here:http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/lawsregs/index.htm Additional Details Only 50,000 a year can come by winning the Green Card Lottery. They are not the best, most of them don't speak English and have no education to speak of.

You are absolutely right. What makes me mad is that the American Counsalates all over the world encourage people to apply for visas and charge 100usd just to apply. Then they turn around and tell the person they don't qualify for one after they wasted 100usd. |

this land has been very generous to so many immigrants and has opened it's arms to many. it is difficult for many to come and the uscis/gov't has made changes due to ABUSE of the law. by the way you can come in legally, it didn't say it was easy. it isn't a vacation, it is a decision to leave your home country, family and friends. your identity, giving it all up to be here.
if you don't want to be here, nobody is stopping you. when you leave, guess what, 10 more are in line who wants to come in, bec. these individuals have great minds and great patience. bec. where they come from they are unappreciated and this is country that has given them so many choices and freedom. even the low income person here is better off than the richest third world family. even welfare has it better. can your kids have education for free? go camping? using public areas and state owned land for free? where the rich and the poor can enjoy the surf and sand? where food isn't in a premium? where people don't tolerate placing or talking about people as second or third class individuals. where you are given the same amount of respect to live your life in any way you want. where as long as you work you can succeed and not be dependent on what circle you run in. even if you come from a little known town or in east la, a ruined family, or a good one, you can with preserverence be anything you want to be. you are angry bec. you feel denied and refused from being allowed to stay here. i have never heard the bright minds and great telents to be refused from this country, they came here legally to work and settle down. it is a privilege definitely, it is hard yes but is it worth it? absolutely. |

That is your argument? That is pathetic and so are you. You don't have the right to break our laws here because you think it takes too long to do it right. You, and other criminals like you, are the ones who speak purely nonsense. Of course you aren't going to be for doing it the right way, you are either a criminal yourself or someone in your family is. Look at your post. You can't even spell. It is don't not dodn't.
By the way, we are Americans. Don't tell us what we can say and what we can't. You are the trespasser here, now get the hell out.

Actually, there is such a thing as a "permanent resident" and there are tons of them in this country. They come here legally and many different types of visas. (ex. student visas, work visas)
My step sister's fiances has lived in the states for almost ten years. He is from Mexico and came here on a work visa. He trains race horses. He works for a living, pays taxes and abides by the law and has no problem being here LEGALLY. |

Actually I helped my wife get her citizenship. It is hard. It should be hard. and if you can get through it you deserve your citizenship.Done it -- been there. Quit crying and just do it. It took us 3 years. My wife will be the first one in the familty to stand up and say illegals should go home and try to come back the way American law perscribes. SHe worked hard to be here and paye the price. She deserves to be acitizen, it sounds like you may not. |

blah blah blah is your argument
I dont care how hard it is for them. Legals pay the taxes so they make the rules. you dont pay or vote, im sorry no one gives two shits about you.
You can pay into the system or get out. |

You are right!!! It is very hard to come here legally. I know of people that have paid over $10,000, in attorney fees, and INS forms. They have waited over 4 years and have not yet received an answer as to if they will be able to become legal residents. If the INS director approves of thier application then they may get their documents, that is if they qualify and if they have family that will have a hardship without them in the Unites States. Other wise forget it. If I were illegal, I would do the same and cross that border. Sorry but Illegals are now part of this country. People want to build a wall but what about underground tunnels and airplanes and people hiding in 18 wheelers, how are they going to stop all that ???? I understand that they want to protect their country but why try to keep good people out who all they want to do is work, and make a living, get their families out of poverty, and make the American Dream. I suggest amnesty for the people who deserve it, have a great background, and want to work. If they break the law while in the U.S. then kick then out, but why not give them a chance? |

Get off your soap box. It really doesn't matter what the immigration laws are. They are still the law and should be followed. If you don't like America, get out. Go to Canada or even better, back to the country from which you came. You sit there and insult America but yet your own country wasn't good enough for you either. If you are here legally then our government is your government also and you should show a little more respect for the country that gave you refuge from the
no-good country you fled. |

Sure, its hard to become a citizen here or to apply for citizenship but they have their reasons for their strict laws. They dont want billions of people from other countries flooding the USA.
The USA can only support so many comfortably. We are still one of the richest nations out there and want to remain that way.
If we have lenient laws, then everyone from other countries will come in; the government will be really poor; schools and housing will be over-flowing; less and less people will have jobs.
I became a citizen 3 years ago after waiting patiently for many many years.....it cost a lot of money (especially if you hire an attorney). So I say it's only fair that people dont take it for granted. |

Oh my god are you kidding me, kid? The only way to become a citizen is NOT to win the lottery or marry a citizen. It is illegal to marry a US citizen in order to become a citizen yourself. The LEGAL way to become a citizen is get Naturalized. Look it up!! You have to learn the US history and take a test and go through a process in order to become a citizen. You even have to fill out an application. Also, one of the criteria for becoming a citizen is being able to read, write, and speak English. **Funny, you can't even spell. "Deap" is not a word. Do a little more research before you get on here criticizing people, not knowing what you are talking about because you look REALLY ignorant!
So why dont YOU read the laws before YOU speak! Don't talk about something if you have no clue what you are talking about because all you are doing is jumping to conclusions and looking ignorant.
If you think the US law is a joke then YOU move to Mexico. |

Yeah, so anyone should just be able to come as they please right? I think it is to hard to go to work all day, and make a living, so I think I will just steal. I don't like waiting in line for anything, so I am just gonna crowd my way to the front. That is the mentality that people like you have. It is sad, but not everyone who wants to be here, actually gets to be here. I am sure there people not fortunate enough to be able to get here illegally, who are more deserving of the chance than some of the people here.
Just because something is hard, doe not mean it is OK to break the rules to get your way....
If America, and its laws are such a joke, you can exercise your freedom to leave assuming of course you are here. America doesn't HAVE to let anyone in. We owe nothing to them, they should consider themselves lucky we let in anyone at all. But like most people, you give them a hand, they try to take the whole arm....
Please do go to Canada, what are you waiting for? The last thing we need here is one more liberal douche like yourself. But I have wasted enough time reading your pro-illegal rhetoric, I am going to get back to enjoying this "SLAVE" nation, and all of it's freedoms..... |

Marrying a US citizen doesn't guarentee you anything. I got very familuer with the imigration laws before 9-11 as I had an Australian fiance. We were engaged for love.
As for getting into the US it's not easy, in large part BECAUSE of illegal imigration. Were the illegals to leave we'd be much better able to absorb legal imigrants. It would not be so hard for people who want to be Americans to get here. That is the key difference. Few illegals want to be American, care about America, many actually hate us. They are here for money and that's about it. Many go back as soon as they can afford too or soon as they get in trouble over here.
Other ways to get into the US is to buy your way in. Get a good imigration lawyer and you are probably in. Claim polical assylum and you are in. Show advanced skills such as atheletes, famous artists and you are in. Provide a skill we want and you are in.
The protests by illegals left me feeling very unsympathetic toward them. Until they did that I was actually rather sympathetic. I've personally known dozens of illegals. Worked with them on occasions. Some of them have been good people. Few though gave a damn about America. All too many won't even bother to learn English. In fact they often censor anybody who does attempt to learn English. Those people can go back to where they came far as I'm concerned. Lets let the people who want ot be Americans come in and take those jobs Americans supposedly don't want. |

Why do you think you have a 'right' EVER to be a citizen?
We have to plan our immigration rules to serve the interests of this country, not the interest of those who want to come from other countries and get subsidized services. The line is long for that because we have to limit poor immigrants so we have sufficient services such as education for our own people. When people jump in line and steal those services, it makes the line longer for those waiting legally. Obviously, if we were picking we would rather have those who follow our laws.
Even if poor people pay all taxes we pay the bulk of their education and health care costs, totally aside from welfare. We can't be the welfare service for the entire world.
If you are middle class or wealthy, it is true you would have an economic net benefit. However, those are determinations that impact how you can come in LEGALLY. When you chose to overstay a visa and be here illegally, you put yourself into the class of illegal immigrants by breaking the law. That class, as a whole, is a huge drain on the economy and would be a worse drain if they were made legal and thereby qualified for even more subsidies and services.
I am in favor of securing the border and getting employment enforcement in place, as well as dismantling the benefits magnet applicable to illegal immigrants so their reason to come is reduced. Once I had that in place, I'd be ok with legalization of screened illegals here NOT citizenship and NOT with a 'chain immigration' benefit to quadrupal their already burdensome number. I would then not also support a guest worker program unless the employers made provision for the education and health care drain their employees would add, above our legal immigration level. Under the current system, they get the benefit, and our children and elderly pay the price.
However, I really forget that voice of reason when I see this sort of argument. You are essentially saying: 'I'm entitled to take subsidized services you pay for and if you don't let me in in a time frame I find acceptable you are doing it wrong!"
I disagree. |

Another Perspective

If US Laws are such a joke, why are you here? 50,000 people a year is a lot of people, but what's funny is people like you who come over and then complain. Those are definitely the people I think we should send back, those that come over and complain about the US or its Laws. I never asked to be American. My ancestors were brought over on a slave ship, guess what, they probably complained as much about the US as you do. Go home if it is so bad...
The truth of the matter is that although YOU are a tax paying citizen, a larger percentage and actual number of illegal Mexicans aren't - more than any other group. Obviously if you are a tax-paying person we aren't complaining about YOU. But you take it personal as if someone thinks all Mexicans are evil. Take your head out of your butt and stop complaining about this country that YOU chose to come to and are choosing to live.
Too many illegals fill our schools, use our hospitals, and don't pay any taxes to help support them.
You call the US a land of Slavery but you are here. Jeez, take your butt to Canada... PLEASE! |

There is H1B and EB3.
H1B is as most of know a lot of outside people come to take our job and if you been working for the company for 5 yrs and the company is willing to sponsor for the employer than he or she can get their green card.
EB3 is employment green card the only difference between H1B and EB3 is that the employer can directly sponsor for the employee once and he or she can get their green card before entering US grounds.
Where as H1B employee is here and they work to prove themselves.
Now at this moment there are a lot of people who are trying to get another law pass thru and its for the spouses for the LPR that they get to come and reside with their husband or wife rather than waiting for years before seeing each other! I hope this get passed thru for those people who has not seen their spouse in years. |

You can also get an american citizen to petition for you.But the key word it what you said is "should".We realize that what you say, although rude,is true(for now). But things could change in the future,my friend. What "should" happen,may...who knows?I'm not whining--hell,I've been trying to get my husband legal for years now.Oh,and I've read the laws, over and over. |

Shut the **** up and go back home. I mean honestly if your that mad just go home. All we want are immigrants to become legal so we don't have to pay your taxes with are money, schools, emergency room visits ect
You can become a citizen if you meet the following requirements:
you have been a legal permanent resident for five years, or three years if you are married to a U.S. citizen
you have lived in the U.S. for at least 2-1/2 years (50%) of the five year period, or 1-1/2 years (50%) if you are married to a citizen
you have lived for more than three months in the state where you apply for citizenship
you are 18 years or older
you have good moral character |

Actually it's chain immigration that takes the bulk of the immigration in America, that primarily comes from latin america....big suprise.
It should be reformed to country quotos that brings in people whom effectively break-away at inflation in given industries e.g medicine. More doctors, yes please. More scientists, yes please.
And yes, the lottery is stupid.
Although I'll say one last thing, I do generally think we should keep college grads (somewhat like yourself), but it should be based on the inflation concept as well. While in a mythical world we could take you and everyone you know in America, the truth is the American infrastructure couldn't. It needs a specific amount of doctors, energy, education, etc, etc....and a wise immigration policy can generate that. While I find it sad that many educated people are shunned from America (for the uneducated), I think your attitude towards America would be better-off if you actually supported rational reform and not attacked America because of your problems...that's a bit one-sided. |
