you should consider why you want to leave? Is your mother beating you daily? Do you earn enough to pay on your own for rent, food, health insurance and whatever else you need? What happens if you break a leg and you need to go to hospital? Can you pay for it? Do you plan to go to university or do you envision to work at MacDonalds for the rest of your life? If you boyfriend isn't legal to live within the country he will not even make minimum wage and he is unlikely to be able to support you. There is also always the possibility that somebody else will bust him. Are you willing to (legally) move with him to his home country if that is the case? Do you speak that language fluently? Or would you drop him? What do you expect that your life will look like in 10 years time? Is that expectation realistic? What do you have to do to get there? Would you need some education/degrees for that? Do some research and compare to other people in your situation.

Your mother is responsible until you are 18 years old. Unless she is abusing you (and saying no for you moving out with your boyfriend at 17 is not abuse) you have to do as she tells you. If she is abusing you call social services.

Contrary to what J may think, it IS fortunate that your mother can report them.

Your boyfriend is a criminal, as is his family.

If you continue to be involved with him, this makes you a criminal as well. It's a direct violation of Title 8 of US Code, and a federal felony.

Your mother is doing the right thing in trying to do what's best for you. Do yourself a favor: dump this guy. It's not worth the heartache you'll be facing later on.

The sad news for you is that your boyfriend and his family are illegal, and should return to their native country. At 17, you are still so vulnerable and naive. I know you may not think so, but you are. Science shows your brain will not develop the complete ability to make important judgements until you are into your 20's. Try to work it out with your Mom, who is probably scared out of her mind (and making threats because of it) for your future. Encourage your boyfriend to return to his country and apply for legal citizenship. If the love is one that can last, he will do it. If not , dump him, and you dodged a bullet.
