Ok so I used to work for this lady that owns a gas station for about 4 years
I was fired in december simply because she said I get paid too much .. nd she hired a guy that came from bagladish or something like that took my shift which was 12 hrs a day 5 days a week so I decided to file for unemployment nd decided not to report or get anyone in trouble.. so stayed on unemployment for abt 3 months nd got another job nd stopped claiming unemployment. So yesterday I receive a letter in the mail that she stopped my unemployment (even though I haven't claimed anythin in more than 2 or so months cuz I got a job) however I dun want her reporting that I'm a theif u no! Why wud u steal $200 from a registered that's counted every shift ! Nd why steal 200 nd lose a job that pays u more than 500 a week? For only 200? How come I worked for abt 4 yrs without a penny short!
I'm scared that this mite affect my life because I want to become a cop nd that's what I have been working hard for I can't let this touch my name ... she waited more than 5 months to report $200 short from the register! What should I do ? Should I report the ppl their or her or should I sue I'm only 21 I never had any legal problems at all nd I dk how to deal with this I need urgent solutions please. Thank you

Ok first of all I'm not looking for unemployment money at all .. I myself stopped the unemployment money the day I got the job so its not about the money its actually about my name I don't want someone saying I stole money or anything I have a clean record not even a scratch nd I can't have anythin at all I'm going to the police acadmey soon. That's my future I don't want her money I want my name cleared... I just found out from a letter from the labor department about 2 or 3 months after I stopped the unemployment money! Which shocked me that's all. I want my name clean nothing else.

in my state, once you are collecting unemployment. the state is in charge of it not your former employer is not you need a letter from the state to say your unemployment is in trouble. She would need to call a cop for the charge of stealing. Call ICE report to they what you have said in your question. Hold your ground. Let the cops and state deal with her. It is time for Americans to turn the table on the people who are allowing this country to go to the dogs. |

First of all, It sounds like she is looking for a reason to stop paying the unemployment for you. I would not sweat it. Make sure you go to the hearing and explain your side of the story. If she is claiming a $200.00 shortage now, it won't hold up, especially if she has not talked to you first. If you decide to sue her, there won't be any other employer who will hire you. Make sure to lay your side of the story out, and if you have had some write-ups before, explain those as well. Don't sweat it. |

If you got a new job already...your no longer unemployed. So this means she no longer has to pay you unemployment. I cannot express a comment reference the cash that was missing; however why would you want to cheat her out for an unemployment check if you are now employed? |

file a complaint with the Department of Labor in your state dude....they will investigate, form a report, and notify you if you have the right to sue this employer....it may take about a year and a half, but if they find you were wrongfully terminated----yes, you can sue...for wages, distress and wrongful termination.
follow that up with reporting her to ICE |
