i want to get a puppy for my birthday. my parents said they would think about it. the only thing is, we are moving out of the country for a couple years for dad's business. if i got a dog, it would have to come in and out of the USA on holidays. if it was up to date on all vet stuff and healthy and everything, how long would it take? also, if its long, how do celebrities do it all the time? (last question is random but ii am just curious)

Frankly, you are better off NOT getting the puppy now. International travel is hard on small animals, and some airlines do not take good care of pets when traveling. Think first of your puppy - you want puppy to be happy, healthy, well cared for.
As for international travel, it depends where puppy is coming from & going to. A number of countries still have quarantine, so if puppy went there, puppy could be stuck in quarantine when you're ready to leave. Not happy for puppy.
It's very, very expensive! Unless you are rich, you might have to do without a lot in order to pay for puppy's repeated vet trips, vet records, shots, quarantines, documentation fees, plane fares, and more. It gets very costly.
Celebs (or those who travel with pets) first make sure there's no quarantine problems or puppy stays home. They usually can afford all this. If/when puppy does not accompany them, they have somebody to take care of puppy for them at their home - live-in help familiar to puppy, no kennel. Kennels are costly, too! |
