Well I am a american citzen. I think that if you would like to be part of this country thats ok, as long as you take the proper tests to do so. I do not think they should deport people, I just think they should give them the option of either becoming a citzen or deporting them. I am ll for equality and all that, I just think that would be best for all. I mean common, if you want to be hear so badly then follow the rules. |

If you (or your parents) want to immigrate, why not do it legally, instead of breaking the law? The US is a nation of laws. Choosing to disobey the laws shows a lack of respect for the nation. Legal and illegal are polar opposites. The United States of America are united states, not necessarily people. If illegal immigrants are afforded the same rights as legal immigrants and citizens, why bother to try and become a citizen at all? There's no incentive to try and do it the legal way. |

I'm not an illegal immigrant. I'm not even an immigrant. BUt I have an opinion on this. If illegal immigrants want rights, then they should become citizens. It's as simple as that. And another thing. If all the illegal immigrants were forced to leave, the country would not just "shut down" as may protesters say. There are plenty of out of work Americans who would be happy to take those jobs. I'm sorry, but being illegal is still a crime. |

I think that May 1st will be remembered and everythng but honestly i dont think it will accomplish naything because people are too ignorant. Yesterday was great eventhough it could have been better but unfortunately people were afraid of losing their jobs because they were informed that they would lose their jobs if they did not show up to wotk tomorrow. |

I know several people who have gone through the "LEGAL" means of applying for citizenship. They pay the necessary fees and wait for their turn for the paperwork to be processed. Just because a person is in this country physically, that does not give them any rights what so ever. Illegals, are illegals. Plain and simple. Now, I agree that the process is flawed and needs to be adjusted and changed, but at the end of the day, the truth is.....Being here illegally, makes you a criminal in that you did not follow the rules and laws of the country you are in. Yesterday was NOTHING!!!!! I feel badly that the illegal immigrants are be lead by people that are trying to sway emotions rather than the facts. |
