i am turning 16 in may. I just recently got into a car accident in april (09). The cop said it was a blind corner and a bad corner to start with me gave me the ticket. I was at fault. My car is fixable though. I have had a clean driving record up to this point. Which i got my permit when i was 14 years old, so i have driven with a clean record for 1.5 years until today. I completed drivers ed with an A. I am in honors classes for school and am very responsible. I live in Iowa. I think the rule is that you can apply for the intermmediate license (16 years old) if you have had 6 months free of accident or violations. I was one month away. I was wondering if the DOT make exceptions in certain sitautions? Am i still able to get my license on may birthday or do i have to wait 6 months to get mine? I am making no excuses for my accident. Beats me, but watch out for those badly designed roads. And go super slow when you see these kinds of places.
Ignore the speed limit. Remember you drive at the speed the conditions allow, such as bad weather, bad visual distance, just generally bad conditions to drive. go slow. |
