In the first two years of passing their test, all new drivers are on a kind of "6 points and your out" system so he needs to be aware that if he racks up 6 points, he will
1) Lose his license.
2) Have to apply for his provisional license again.
3) Re-sit Theory test.
4) Take more driving lessons.
5) Take - and pass - his driving test.
6) When he takes out insurance, it will be sky high.
However, normally for the first speeding offence (providing he wasn't doing 70mph in a 30 zone), the majority of insurance companies do not inscrease the insurance policy as they know many people slightly exceed the stated speed limit. You should still report it [to the insurance co] if he has received points. The next set of points he receives would mean his insurance would rocket the next year though. |

It depends on the insurance company, how fast he was going and how many drivers are insured on the policy. If there is only 1 car and 3 drivers then yes, it will affect the other drivers insurance. If he is insured on his own car just under another person then it shouldn't affect their insurance. Speeding cites only affect the driver, not the vehicle or the household.
There is no answer to your question regarding how much the increase will be. We'll need a lot more information to answer that. He'll need to talk with his agent |

It might affect the other persons rates. Just depends on the insurance company and which state you live in.
Same thing goes for how much the insurance will go up by.
Just contact your insurance company and see. |

its hard to know how much the insurance will go up by, but you deffo want to shop around when it comes to renewing.
it will affect any policy he is on, so if he has his own car and insurance but is also on someone elses as a named driver then id suggest not putting him as a named driver when it comes to renewing the other persons policy unless he really needs to drive that car. if you mean the other person has 2 policies then it will only affect the one he is actually on. |

it wont go up till his next renewal... and tell your friend as a new driver, if he get more than 6 points (for any offence) he gets an automatic ban and retest... |

why yes, and it vari's by state and township. It could even effect all the registered drivers in the household. |

I suppose He's only been driving for a few weeks. It'll all end in tears at this rate. |

it will affect all the cars that he is rated on.
in a policy, there can be several drivers and cars. Only the car that he is rated on will go up in price. The increase can be anywhere between 15-40% depending on ticket. |

In my experience, you get a ban, if it's your first year.
My cousin had to resit his test and everything. |

A speeding ticket shouldn't affect insurance |

It depends how many points he or she has already. BUT..the insurance for the entire family goes up as you have to have all family members in your household on every insurance policy. |
