Some kid broke my windshield with a rock and i claimed my insurance company. The car is now "totaled". WHAT THE F*** and the insurance company only giving me 100 bucks back.
should i pocket the 100 bucks and buy a new car
or
Should i repiar the windshield costing me extra 100-150 bucks

Fix it, and drop the comprehensive coverage. You are paying money and they think the car is worthless. |

I would replace the window, due to the way jobs are, you car is a gas saver. You could also get your money back and more if you sale it. But why have car payment when jobs or not for sure........ |

ONE car payment would be a lot more than $100. When was the last time you had a car payment? You've had a free ride for a long time, so a small amount (your old car HAS no value) shouldn't kill you. By the way, you can likely get a windshield, installed, for $150, total, and they'll come to you. |

It was totaled because the repairs were at least 70% of the "fair market value" of the car. If they are giving your car back to you AND giving you $100.00, I would use that $100. to put in a new windshield ($150.-250.) on my own and keep driving it. You could also consider buying a used windshield from a junkyard and having a handy person install it for you. Installing it is not rocket science. I would also drop all coverages except liability and perhaps med payments (PIP) because your car has no "market value" |
