I might be getting a 2005 BMW X5 for my 16th birthday. But I'm afraid that If I drive it to my high school, it will get F**cked. My family is rather wealthy and everyone in this area hates us for it, I'm afraid that some of the other kids will like, key my car. So, my question is, Do you think that people would do it? And/Or what insurance would cover this?
Additional Details
Because my dad Hates the city, we used to live in Detroit.

They might, kids can be really cruel.
As for the insurance damage like that would fall under your comprehensive coverage (covers things like fire, theft, vandalism, windshield repairs...). You would have to pay whatever deductible you have on your policy and the insurance will pay the rest. |

If I were you, I would explain the situation to my parents and ask them to buy me an old car for now and put the difference between the cost of this car and the BMW in the bank for you. You could then use the money in the bank to buy a better car when you go to college.
This might help you make friends easier at you high school. Also, you will be a much more experience driver by the time you get to college and there would be less chance of you wrecking you nice car. I you have a collision in the old car while you are in high school it will not make you feel quite as bad as it would if you were in the new car. |
