i was at walmart and accidentally cut a guy in a van off and ran the walmart stop sign he waited to see where i was parking and got my liscense plate number and probubly called the cops now im freaking what could happen will the cops leave it alone or give me a ticket?

In most states, the police have no jurisdiction over private property traffic infractions, including accidents (the exception may be if a human is hurt significantly).
Aside from this, the police did not witness the infraction, which means that the most they could do would be to come to your house and talk to you about it. Basically a "be more careful while driving" thing.
If the van guy attempts to contact you in any way or you start seeing him, then you need to immediately dial 911 and report him. |

They can't give you a ticket if they didn't witness it. They may talk to you....but more than likely they will run your tag and if all is clear not even bother. Relax. |

That is not a city street and the police do not issue tickets there.
And he is the only eye witness anyway - unless you were in an accident don't worry.
This guy is just some old trouble maker - the police will ignore him. |

The officers will have to investigate. Because the police officer did not witness the incident, they really can't/won't do anything. They're far too busy going after real criminals than to worry about this.
Did you hear about the guy that called the cops on a fast food joint because he didn't get what he wanted? They arrested him for abuse of the 911 system. |

just probably depends where u live cuz if u live in elizabeth city NC the cops wont do **** but i wouldnt worry cuz theres nuttin u can do |

If they were going to do something, they would have done it while you were still parked in the lot. The probably just laughed at him for being petty. |

Only if the reporting party is willing to sign the citation, and appear in court to testify. Most of the time someone calls in with a complaint and license number, but they aren't willing to carry through with all the work it takes to get a conviction, and the officer can't write a ticket for something he didn't see, so the chances are nothing will happen. |

Maybe - right now - he's trying to locate your home address from your plates. To pay you...a visit - some dark evening.
Maybe he's just bidding his time; waiting & watching.
Maybe your driving is what lit his fuse; now you're his next meal.
