I was wondering what happens if you get in an accident with someone else's vehicle which is insured, but the driver who borrowed the car has his license revoked? Wouldn't the insurance cover it?

Insurance follows the vehicle, not the person driving it. They will pay for the damages and the person driving should get ticketed for driving without a license.
Your company may not be happy that an unlicensed driver was driving your vehicle but if you have collision coverage, they WILL pay for the damage to your car. |

The insurance will cover the damage. However, not having a license is a different story. You're just going to be fined. I hope your friend isn't too upset. |

Yes, they would cover it. The car was insured that's what is important. You would receive a citation for driving while suspended. |

The insurance goes with the vehicle, not with the driver, so yes, it will be covered. However your insurance is not going to be happy with your choices, loaning your car to someone without a license, and they will either raise your rates or perhaps drop you. |

No, the insurance is VOID if the driver isn't legally licensed for the vehicle being operated.
One exception: If the operator did NOT have the owner's permission AND if the owner swears out a complaint for auto theft the car will be considered stolen and the insurance will pay. Of course, the driver will then be prosecuted for GTA. |

no not all insurance companies will honor it. esp. if they know you know that the person you loaned it to didn't have a license. Could be a long drawn out fight to get them to pay for it. Any way look for a significant increase in your insurance. that is if they don't cancel you... |
