My husband is active duty army in GA and we need to renew our car registration in Alabama. I looked at the DMV website and there wasn't much information, it said something about $23, but I think that's just to obtain a title? We've been told by several people we get a break on the cost of renewing registration since he is in the army but I can't find much about it anywhere and the DMV there won't tell me anything since I'm not on the registration, just him. Is it true that we get a discounted rate? Thank you.

If I understand your question correctly, your husband is stationed in Georgia and you're residents of Alabama.
Call your county's tag office http://www.revenue.alabama.gov/motorvehicle/statemap.html and let them know that you are an Alabama resident in the military and need your sticker mailed to your Georgia address. They should tell you how much to renew. Once they get the check, they can send you your sticker. |
