Sorry no... You would need fully comp. to be covered... Only if you knew the offending driver and sued him or his insurers would you get any recompense... Regretfully you have now discovered the pitfalls of third party insurance.

Normally, 3rd party car insurance covers the other party's car that is involved in an accident and not yours. It is also acceptable to the police whenever they check your papers and tenable in court of laws. Because the liability of the insurance is limited, this is why the premium payable by you is very minimal.
Your Insurance company will not come to your assistance in this kind of accident.

What do you mean by 'third party'?

If you knew who did the damage......you would have a third party claim.

Since you don't know who did the damage....you have a first party claim (with your own insurance company provided you have the appropriate coverage).

The train station parking lot has no negligence and therefore would not be responsible for your damages.

Sorry to hear about the damage but i cant help wondering why you dont know what your insurance covers-you get enough info with your policy so how come you havent read it!

No - 3rd party insurance covers your liability if you damage other people's (third party's) property or injure/ kill them.

Only if you had comprehensive cover would accidental damage cover be given on your car.

The MIB can't help either as the person who caused the damage is unknown. The only chance would be if the station had cctv and could view the incident.

No, third party damage means if your vehicle damages what belongs to someone else only.

If you new who had done the damage you would have to make the claim yourself with the other party insurance company because yours will not assist you, did you have legal protection? if yes get in touch with them only if you new or have proof who did the damage. If the answer is no then hard luck minimum, cheap cover does not always pay.

I know what your going through dude, my Civic Type R was ran into or driven into at the Trafford Centre 6 months ago or so and i came back after a couple of hours shopping to burst literally into tears! What was far worse for me was the fact that the camera in that area didnt WORK!!! I am fully comp but with insurance at the prices it is and the situation im in with regards to no claims bonus almost 5 years ive managed to push it back on and it doesnt even (luckily) look broken, but i know its there. As the other guys have said, contact train station security/police to see if they can get CCTV footage, chances are tho the camera dont work. 3rd party only covered the other party if you were to have an accident that was your fault. In this case your the victim unless you can get this footage mate! ALL THE BEST! I hope you get the scum, coz thats what they are!

Edit - Just to confirm from further comments made.

3rd party fire and theft covers you for if your car well is stolen or somehow becomes alight! It covers the other driver in the sense of their car repairs!
