The average number of hours professional tuition it takes to pass the UK driving test is 45 - plus 22 hours private practice. That's the actual average, not a recommendation - some will take much more, some will take much less. It's impossible for anyone in here to tell you how many hours it is likely to take you to learn without seeing you drive - everyone is different.
If you are not getting on with your driving instructor, change to another. You don't need a reason - just not getting on is enough. However, for me, just him smelling would be more than enough reason! |

40 lessons ?
What's he talking about ? You should be able to do it in about 15-20 lessons (I think i had 15). I would defo ditch him. He's just ripping you off and sounds a nasty man if he's mean when you make a mistake.
GET RID !!! |

For you to make a better driver or operator of machinery you need to just listen and pay attention while you drive. Don't mix everything or u get totally confused. listen while u drive with more concentration on the road. be relaxed while doing this. hope it works for u.

it's your money and you won't get the benefit of it if you don't get on with the instructor. Doesn't sound very professional to me - I'd take the lessons I've paid for and if you still feel the same get another instructor. |

Is he telling you how to drive or is he just waffleing.
get rid of him, if he is waffleing. i had a bad instructor he used to drive a bus in his daytime job. he took all my money, my family told me to get rid but i didnt, In the end i got pregnant, i was 5 mths but you couldnt tell, anyway i told him and he stopped my lessons. Told me he didnt teach pregnant woman.
i had just taken my theory and passed with flying colours.
He told me i would never pass my test i was a bad driver. even though i was due to do my test, i was reverse parking at the time.
2yrs later when the baba was old enough i moved house and got a new instructor, i had to do my theory again. but he was brilliant.
he told me that my previous instructor had been teaching me to drive like a bus driver. staying close to kerbs and all that. a few months later i passed 1st time with great marks.
that was last month.
you both have to respect each other. and he should not be shouting at you, but at the same time if he is stern sometimes thats good it does actually help you get it together faster on a bad day. and all of them talk money lol. 40 lessons if you have never sat in a car is not bad,
i had loads. also dont be pushed into your test if you are not ready. and last of all driving test is not as bad as you think, i just pretended my instructor was ill and she was my replacement for the lesson.
just treat it like a mock exam, they are gonna tell you what you are doing wrong and you fix it. most people pass 2nd or third too. if you think like this you wont be nervous and hey you might pass 1st time. like me |

find another instructor , but before you do look at his green or pink badge he will have a 6 figure number on it just under his name take a note of this and report him to the D S A , if you think he is not acting in a fit and proper manner , is his car reasonably clean and does he use foul language , do us all a favour and get him reported |
