Any theories why women are supposed to have fewer insurance claims?

My take on it is that they are both named drivers on each others insuances .Husband buys top of the range car, & wife has small runaround to take kids to school, do the shopping etc. Husband lets wife 'borrow' car at weekends. BIG mistake. She sees that his car is better equipped than hers, & uses moral blackmail -'the kids are safer in your car', I feel safer as well. Let me use it. In doing so they are brow-beaten into submission. Next step, wife has small accident in his car, husband claims on his insurance and the die is set.He loses no- claims bonus while building up her no- claims bonus A chap I work with has a new car every 2 years but he never drives it, he has his wifes car ( which is a total mess inside, being a dumping ground for toys, dog blankets etc) 'because it is more economical ' to run than his. When we comment on this he just says ' Its easier to say nowt and keep the peace

My theory -
A woman backs into a guy's car, gets out and starts BAWLING!!! "ohh my husband is going to kill me blah blah blah" so the guy, being a guy and having no patience for the blubbering, says "its not that bad" and leaves, because he's tired already of hearing the "woe is me" crap from the woman.
And THAT"S why women have fewer insurance claims!

Women normally have smaller accidents which most of them don't even claim. They're not gonna bother if its just a scratch.
Men are more likely to have big accidents where they will have to claim.

My theory is that men do most of the driving. With women spending less time behind the wheel, the accident rate is of course going to drop down.

It seems as if they are the safer drivers ... in reality it's a different story.

no women make more claims, however they ar alot smaller than mens as men tend to right off a car women just have bumps and scrapes that why they get cheaper insurance

My theory is I drive the car in our house and apart from 1 accident in 16 years, A JCB driver decided to ram into me. I won't let my husband learn to drive because he has no concentration and swears at most other drivers, so I think it's safer for him not to drive, because one day, someone is going to stop, and belt him one. Plus, my car has to stay tidy, with no rubbish in it or I go Ballistic at the passengers.
That's my theory, BIG HEAD.

The front of womens brains are more developed than mens. Its the part of the brain which assesses risk and danger therefore women spot potential hazards moreso than men. Women often drive slower and so have more time to react than men. Although most women have had as many accidents as men they often cost the insurance companies less money to fix up and that's why their insurance is cheaper.
