to name but a few...but NO MORE...ive grown up!
i nearly got put in prison for it at the age of 19...standing in the doc the judge said'' i sentence you to 6 months in prison[ i nearly shat myself].............[long 5 seconds gap]....................................... for 2 years''...whoosh,to close for Comfort...that was the last time i drove illegally |

TOOTS - you didn't have to patronise the questioner - but having done so, you've made an idiot of yourself.
It may be offense in the States, but in the UK it's offence.
I got three points for speeding in a 30 many years ago. Had no effect on anything - including my insurance premium. |

yes, speeding 67mph in 50mph speed limit, i had just left a 70mph limit and was slowing down but not quick enough got caught by mobile Camera, got letter of intended prosecution and it said i would receive offer of 3 points + £60 fine, didn't receive offer until 1 year later, but received court date after 4 months, went to court and complained i did not receive offer magistrate did not believe me £120 fine 4 points lost it and said i was going to appeal and left court, got home and got call from court, other defendants had the same problem as me fine reduced to £60 but still 4 points maybe i should have kept my cool LOL |

I've had many tickets. Your insurance company gives you points for certain tickets, and the points determine how much your insurance will cost. For me the points drop off after 3 years, but this might be different where you live. |

Nothing major - just had two lots of three points and a £60 fine - each time for driving 38 in a 30.....wow. : )
Wasn't affected at all.
I'm a careful driver - slightly fast but not majorly so and never go above 85/90mph on a motorway- mostly stick at 75/80mph. Always do 30 in a built up area. It's those strange 30s in the middle of nowhere where I've been caught. |

Yes, I have...(and it's "offense" not "offence")..a DUI...
embarrassing..humiliating...
It was my bad judgment (this has been some years ago)...I have NEVER done it since...it was a stupid, thoughtless thing to do. Even though I only drove 2 miles from my home..I was caught that fast.
Obeying the law...(that's why we have them!) is ALWAYS best... |

Caught speeding at 93mph on a new by-pass in Cheshire. Speed limit was 70mph.
Given 3 points and £60 fine so got away quite lightly to be fair. The police were actually very polite which was extremely weird. Almost as if they felt they were intruding on me.
That was 4 years ago now so did it slow me down? Probably by about 10mph for about 6 months but then normal service resumed! I'll probably get caught again at some point in the future because I drive about 30k a year but then it goes with the territory I suppose. |
