I want to apply for a CBT license. How soon can I take it and how do I apply for it...?
Is it really worth getting? e.g Will there be more jobs open for me if I have one?
Also any other info about the CBT license would help a lot... Thanks!

One of these tests, if passed, will only increase your job prospects if you then get a bike and so are able to travel to more places of work than otherwise you would on buses etc. |

The C.B.T. isn't a licence - it's a test. The full title, Compulsory Basic Training should give you a clue to what it's all about.
It is compulsory (i.e. a legal requirement) that you undertake and pass a C.B.T. course, before you ride any motorcycle or moped on the road.
If you don't, you are riding illegally. You don't have a choice to whether it's worth getting or not - you MUST do your C.B.T. By law. |

Well it depends on the waiting list in your area. You can check this at the DSA website.
I can't see how it would open up job offers to you (unless you plan on delivering pizzas on a moped) |

Depends on where your going and what the waiting list is like- when my brother did his, he rang up one day booked it for the next day :)
I think it is worth getting and it may open more jobs because then you can get places etc.. and employers prefer people that have their own transport- makes them more independent.
CBTs are only valid for a two-year period and if you don't go on to take and pass the Theory and Practical tests within those two years, you'll have to re-take the CBT, but your Provisional Moped Licence has no expiry date.
The Theory Test is a multiple-choice exam done against the clock and the pass certificate is valid for two years. You can sit this exam at your local DSA test centre I think.
