I just bought a brand new vehicle. Am i allowed to drive it? I have insurance on my other cars but what papers do i carry if i drive the new car? or do i have to wait for the papers to come

Those tags are typically good for 30 days from the date of purchase. Just carry your insurance card and what papers you have on the purchase for now. |

Of course you can drive your new car with the "paper" license plates. They are for temporary use, usually thirty days but that can vary from state to state. Just make sure you get your registration completed before your temporary tag expires.
As for insurance, most companies will cover a new car for a grace period under an existing policy. However, I wouldn't wait around thirty days to call my agent, I'd get that set up right away. Your agent can usually fax or give you if you visit their office a temporary proof of insurance card. |
