Yes, you are liable for damage you cause, even if your car slid on ice. You are responsible for the damage to the other car, and the accident can be charged against you, as an at fault accident.
Some states, will allow you to contest the surcharge, but you continue paying it, until you win. If you win.
The theory is, you failed to maintain control of your car. If it's impossible to maintain control, you have a duty to stay off the roads. |

Yes, and It's called "failure to maintain reasonable control". |
|

Marc
 |
Yes you are still liable. The citation would mention "driving too fast for conditions". |

YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO SUE THE ICE FOR DAMAGES |

You are responsible if your car hits another one, no matter the cause. For example, if you were stopped and someone rear-ended you, causing you to hit the person in front of you, you would be responsible for that damage. |

Haha. You are responsible to maintain full control of your vehicle regardless of weather conditions. Yes, you are liable in this case. |

Yes, "Speed too fast for conditions."
Now if you can prove (good luck) that the road maintenance organization was notified and they hadn't spread salt and/or sand in a reasonable amount of time, you may have a case against them. |

No such luck. YOU are totally responsible. |

An act of God you mean, but God doesn't have insurance, you do, you pay. |

You are liable. No such clause. Pay for the damages you caused. |

Yes, of course you are liable ! We are all responsible for our actions. What you are asking (hoping) is: will someone else pay for my actions? This is called Socialism. But... never fear ! After Obammamamma is sworn in, he will pay for everything and no one will be responsible for anything anymore and everything will be free and handed to us on a silver platter. |

people are idiots
|
You were driving too fast for the road conditions; it's your fault. |

dont mind these idiot's, the guy who said the comment about no fault insurance is correct! Thats the reason we have insurance. regardless who's fault your insurance will cover the damages.. Your insurance rate may go up slightly but if it goes up too much just get another insurance company.. Not the end of the world, we all have accident's and if there was a clause the damage will still have to be payed for that was caused by your vehicle, so tahnk god for insurance and its not the end of the world.. take care |

In the states, we ususally have no fault insurance. Yours will have to pay, but no one is deemed "at fault". |
