yes..his insurance would be liable should you have a claim, however it is likely he would be dropped after wards, but you're covered for a one time operation or very rare operation, if your drive more frequently he would/should have you added to the policy specifically and depending on your record, could incur additional premiums if the insurance company decided he is an added risk |

Yes, because his insurance covers his car and anyone who drives it. If YOU have a car, then you should have insurance for it. |

As long as his as "permissive use" on his policy. Most big companies do. Permissive use allows anyone to borrow and drive their car. Some cheap companies do not have it. |

Judge Sludge is correct. If it's just a once in a while thing, there is no problem. If your friend regularly loans you the car, he has to add you to the policy or in the event you have an accident, the insurance company will be entitled to deny payment. |

So long as they ring up and add you as a named driver then yes. it's free to do but make sure you do it, If you're not named then you won't be insured. |

Yes but only if your friends insurance covers you ie it may be his car is insured for any driver ,however you must check as it may only cover any driver over 25 or some other limitation. |

Here's the deal, most "standard" or "preferred" insurance carriers will afford coverage to the car as long as the driver had permission from the policy holder to drive the vehicle. If you drive the car regularly, you should be added as an additional driver.
If your friend does not have a standard or preferred company, only people that are named on the policy are covered.
If your friend is not sure what type of policy they have, they should call their agent and ask. |
