I met with my lawyer today, he said that when we get the settlement and it is over 10k they will stick it in a restricted bank account which means i cannot get it till im 18.. UNLESS i need money for something parents aren't supposed to buy you. He said this means like a car.. I was wondering, what are the things your parents don't normally buy you, meaning in the whole laws case.. I just cannot grasp what he is meaning. I'm 15 years old. I don't know what my parents aren't supposed to pay for between the ages of 15-18. I thought a car would be counted as ME buying.. Anybody gone through this that can help me out here?

It's in your best interest to have the money kept there. Of course it is tempting to listen to your gut reaction and teenager brain that wants you to take it out and spend it. Save it for college. You can always buy a car later when you really need it. |

It is best that you save the money until you are 18. Use it on your college instead. You can get a car after getting your Bachelor's degree.
You need to talk to your lawyer on what you can use the money. |
