Auto title questions. Need to transfer and what do I need to do?

I purchased a vehicle for my daughter. The title is in both of our names. I want to take my name off and let her name be the only name on it. What do I need to do?

Those answers are way too complicated.

Take the title (clear I hope) and your daughter to a tag and title service or your motor vehicles department. What you will be doing is signing the ownership of the car to your daughter as a gift.

In some states, the tags will not be changed. In all states, the fact that it is a gift makes it tax exempt. You might pay a small fee for the service, but it won't be a wallet buster.

should have never done that way to start with but to get name off it and into one you pretty much ave to start over again like you did both have to sign it under sellers name and then she has to sign it under buyer name then you have to repay taxes on it and redo all that has been done like tags and insurance i wouldnt do it unless i was selling it to someone wouldnt hurt a thing til one needs to sale it just going to cost you a bunch of money dont really need to switch it

As long as there is not a lien on the car, simply, you just have to sign the title over to your daughter. Put her name as purchaser, and you both have to sign as sellers. She will have to get new plates and her own insurance for the vehicle. Since she is your daughter, in most states, you can "gift" it to her so she won't have to pay any additional sales tax, just the title fee and registration fees plus her own insurance.
