I'm selling my car in California. Do I print out the bill of sale and send it to the DMV or what do I do? Thanks.

print out, both parties sign, and give to buyer, that is his copy of proof, up to him to give it to DMV or not, doesnt need to if he has title in hand.
Suggest that you keep a copy as well, new law says that you must keep records of cars owned and sold for 18 months after ownership |

Print the "bill of sale" and a "release of liability" and fill them out. You can give the buyer the bill of sale and the title You keep the "release of liability". Make a copy for your records & take the original to the DMV. By doing this, you protect your self incase the buyer does not transfer the vehicle from your name to his/hers. Personally, I would go with the buyer to the DMV to make sure the title & registration was taken out of my name. |

Yes,and make sure to fill out the RELEASE OF LIABILITY which will keep you out of alot of trouble if something happens while they have the car. You can get both form from their website. |
