Bought A Used Car That Was From Another State And No Registration?

I bought a used car yesterday. I'm from Texas. The people that had it before were from New Mexico I believe they said. The car does not have a registration sticker. I was curious as to what will happen, or if I just have to go get it registered normally or what?

I bought the car at a dealership, not from like the actual person.

The dealership should take car of the registration. Hopefully they gave you a temporary plate? |

A registration is not the important thing, its the title. If you have a title, and the car is in good repair, you should be able to take it to the Texas DMV and have it transferred into your name and get a Texas tag. |

Who has the Certificate of Title? That is the document you NEED to have/get in your possession. |

Just take the title to the Texas DMV and get everything taken care of. A New Mexico registration means nothing if you live in Texas. |

You don't need the registration, you need the title.
As long as you have the title, you go to your local tax office, and get the registration paperwork, and proof of insurance, and you can get a TX registration and title for the car. |
