My sister who recently passed her driving test would like to buy a car, problem is car insurance quote comes up to £3000, which is too much! So i was thinking to get the insurance in my name, and put her down as secondary driver. I already have another car, where i am also primary driver. If she crashed her car, would this get flagged up under my insurance, although she crashed it....i dont want to pay high insurance for the rest of my life for her mistake or would it come under her record??

you cant get cheaper then ford ka...the quote my sister received is for a FORD KA, now imagine, how much the insurance would be if it were a more expensive car!!

If you are down as main driver (policy holder) she crashes (if she is at fault), you will lose your NCB. |

Go to www.compare.com and check all insurance companies to find the cheapest for your sister. If you insure the car then it has to be registered in your name too and even though the premium is high now it will come down as her age goes up plus she;s building up her own no claims bonus. You would have any crashes she incurs put on your record forcing your insurance premiums up. I would also have protected no claims added.

what you are planning is called FRONTING. It will lead to claims being turned down. It is also known as "obtaining insurance by deception", in other words FRAUD and can lead to a criminal record |
