Can I drive my mom's car?

well im getting my license this friday and im wondering if after i get my license will i be able to drive my mom's car without being on the policy? her policy expires next month and i don't want to wait that long. i live in cali.

I know in Texas you can drive on anyones car unless you are specificly excluded however that is a question best asked of your mother and her insurance provider.

when you get your license you will be allowed to drive a car and also your mom`s car if she let you to ride it .

All your mom has to do is call her company and add you to her policy - you do not have to wait until renewal...

IF you do not live in the same household as your parent/parents policy you are able to drive on their policy.

maybe you should wait. coz the insurance might not pay up if you crash the car and they find out it was you and not your mom. You can just check with your insurance agent.

Driving a car without insurance is a crime and you could be fined for it .. you can always renew it at a lower cost than u paid originally for the insurance.
So you can keep driving till the insurance expires .. then u have to renew it before taking it out on the road again.

Insurance will insure all family members lives in the same house hold. Thats why they will run a check on ur household liscensed driver when they consider the monthly premium. Yes, you will be automatically put under her policy once if you get ur liscense. Cops cannot give ticket, and the insurance co. will pay if accidents happens. Altho if accident did happen, you might rise ur mom's monthly premium to sky high. Some insurance co. might also make you pay. But its not illegal to drive ur mom's vehicle. Tho its illegal to drive ur friend's vehicle...
