Can I drive to NY with my permit ?

I am 16. I am living in NJ and I don't know if I can drive to NY with my parents.

At 16 you need to: have a permit, drive only from sun up to sun down, have a LICENSED adult driver in the car with you (I beleive the passenger seat.)

And those are the rules!

You can, just look up the NY driving laws to make sure you are driving within the time restrictions. They could be different than NJ. I don't know the site but if you google NY DMV you should be able to find it.

If your parents are in the car, then you are allowed to drive. It is only if you are alone, that you can't. However, I don't think that you're allowed to drive after 9pm.

I'm not positive about NJ, but in Pa you can't drive out of state with only a permit, you need your license.
