I got in a car accident. The driver offer to pay to fix my car. I brought the car to a shop to get my car fix. When the car was done, the driver never show up with the payment. I can't reach the driver now and I had to pay for the repairs. Is it too late to file a claim?
plus at the time of the accident, the driver did not have his license, insurance card. the only information i have is his name, cell phone number, license plate and vin #

Yes, you can still file a claim. You or your shop still have the original estimate. Your insurance company can get records from the Department of Motor Vehicles, to get the person's address, from the plate number and the VIN. If your company agrees to pay, and if there is no statute of limitations involved (you do not say when the accident happened and when the car was repaired) they can subrogate; recover what was paid out, from the responsible party and possibly get your deductible back.
I am a retired (thankfully) claims adjuster. Your company may refuse to pay because you did not meet all policy conditions. If they refuse, file a complaint with your state Insurance Department. |

You never reported it to the police. You have no license # for the other driver. You have no witnesses. You repaired it without permission or an estimate from any insirance co.

Yes. Contact your insurance company, tell them what happened and give them all the information you have and any additional info they request. |

If you have the shops estimate and maybe the shop took pictures you can try. |

Your first mistake was not reporting the accident and waiting at the scene for the police to investigate it. The second was not waiting filing an insurance claim. The third was taking the car to shop on the word of an unlicensed driver who had no I.D. Your fourth mistake is asking for advice on this site rather than going to a lawyer who is a professional in law. Take it from there. |

File in small claims court maybe. It might be to late doesn't hurt to check on it though |

if the police never came to inspect the accident then it's to late to file a claim, but if the police did inspect the accident on the spot then I think you can file a claim. |
