I am going to court about this. In mass. but I was involved in an accident. the cop gave me a $200 driving without registered vehicle citation. my aunt was out of phone service, and here registration was expired 12-14. accident was 12-18. but....it never said 12-14 on her washington plate, just 12. If I go to court to reduce the citation, will I have any ground to argue on?

The registration was expired. You were driving without up to date registration.

What part of expired do you not understand? What are you going to show the judge for your defense- the registration card that shows the exact date the plates expired? And that will help your defense how??
The citation was written from the information that was printed on the registration card, not from a sticker on the plate. You have no defense.
All you can do is show up dressed respectfully, remain polite to the judge & hope that the judge is in a good mood & shows you some leniency, If you were not at fault in the collision, (s)he may show you some leniency, especially if you have had a clean driving history up till now. |
