Okay, so I got my permit when I was like 15 and a half, then I turned 16 but I waited until the last month to go take my drivers test. I went twice and failed both times, my permit expired. When I went to renew my permit I failed the test. I studied and went back to take the permit test and I passed. I'm 17 right now and I start college in August and I need my license. The man at the DMV said I have to wait 6 months to take the test and that'll be in August. I was wondering since I'm 17 and I already had a permit with the drivers ED stuff, if I could take it sooner?
I live in California if that might help.

Well, my brother is 18 and he got his license, if your birthday is sooner than 6 months then maybe you can, hope this helped xD! |

Your parents could sign a form, where they could take full liability for you for 6 months if you pass the BTW test, however, most parents are reluctant to do this.

You have to have your permit for 6 months unless your 18 and over, then you don't need a permit you just have to pass the test. |
