Alright, I'm having a bit of trouble understanding the insurance end of legality when it comes to driving. My only concern is that it will be legal for me to drive the vehicle - here's the situation.

I really need a car, and my significant other has offered to let me drive hers. I've got my license, and have never been in an accident. The car I'll be loaned is under her mothers name, and is insured by her mother's policy. I don't legally (or otherwise) live with them, I understand that can be an issue. If I'm pulled over, am I legally driving without insurance? Or since the car is insured, am I safe? What would I have to do to make this situation legal?

You can drive the car , just don't get caught or have an accident.
if you want it legal. buy the car and get your own insurance.

on their proof of insurance, there is asually the phone number of the insurance agent, who can look up the policy number (also on the proof slip), and tell you so.

I would think you'll be ok, but bottom line-check with mom's insurance
