Can I pass an emissions inspection from another state to renew my tags?

I'm out of town for the next 8-12 weeks, and my registration expires this month. The car will pass, but does the inspection certificate need to be from the same state? (car currently registered in Utah)

Can't you present the car early for the test. In the UK if we take our existing certificate to the test station, we can apply for a re test up to one month before the current test expires. The new certificate is post dated to run consecutively with the old one so you don,t loose time. |

no because emission standards vary state to state and you have to meet the standards that your state requires and the only way to prove that your vehicle meets those standards is if you have you car tested in that state there are even some states that dont have emission standards so there is no test to take |
