I bought a motorcycle from the brother of a man that passed away for a good price and he says he cant find the title to it...I know I cant sell it with out a title but can I find a way to get it legal to drive? Like use my reciept as proof of ownership?

No you didn't. You may have given him money, and he may have allowed you to take a motorcycle, but you didn't buy it. If it was really his to sell, he and only he can get a duplicate title. Without the title you can do nothing.
Nothing.
Nothing. Not register, not sell.
Get the title, or return it and get your money back. |

Have your friend apply for a duplicate title, sign it over to you then register it. |

Nope. Must have a title to register the car. If he lost the title then he needs to request another one and give that to you. |

I would advise contacting your local bar, or perhaps try a website like DirectAdvocate.com to talk to an attorney. Legal problems such as this REALLY should not be dealt with over a platform like this. I would earnestly reconsider and talk to an expert. |
