I financed a vehicle with an ex-girlfriend. She took the vehicle after the split. Since then she has caused a 30 day late to my credit. Can I take back the vehicle even though she has made the payments since the split? Can she successfully sew me for the payments she had made if I do take the car?

If you alone financed it it is yours no matter who is paying for it.....if you cosigned you can file a simple motion to retrieve at court house.. or simply report it stolen and save yourself time and energy....police will go get your keys and your car... simply tell them you let her use it and she failed to return it..
if you cosigned file the motion at court house and request your name be taken off the finance paperwork so you are no longer legally responsible or ask that she buy the car from you get her own financing/ loan she pays you you pay off loan everything is all set those are our choices... next time do not get involved in buying ANYTHING jointly unless you are married seriously you will screw your credit and be sorry trust me I learned the hard way...i should of freecreditreport.com my ex lol sounds like you should of too lol GOOD LUCK |

Who's name is on the financial papers? If hers is first and she has only been late for one payment you really don't need to get the car back. If yours is first then the car actually belongs to you. Otherwise you have signed an agreement to ensure the lender will get their money in case she defaults on the loan, which she has not done. IF you take the car you really should have a legal reason for doing so. She would have to be in violation of any contractual agreement you two have in order for you to get the car. Otherwise you may be subject to trespass and car theft charges However, she does need to let you know if she cannot meet her obligation in paying the monthly note on the car. I suggest you discuss her refinancing the car in her name in order to get you off the contract as the cosigner of the note. this can be done if she has had enough time in paying the note (usually 6 months or better). She has to show she is able to continue paying for the car. You two need to communicate more clearly on what is expected of you in this agreement.
