In order for your license to be "reinstated" in Illinois,you will have to pay for it. As soon as you apply for a Driver's License in Illinois,your driving record from Virginia will "pop-up". The "Fine" may vary,depending on the reason your license was suspended,and how many traffic violations,you've recieved in the past. The "Fine" can range from $50.00 to $300.00 (like I said,depending on how many times you've been stopped by the Cops,and for what reasons). A suspended license in Illinois,can also land you in jail. The DVM in Illinois,will tell you what you have to pay,and you will be paying what you owe in Virginia. Once the fine is paid,it may take you up to 3 months,before you can get a valid Driver's License in Illinois,because you may also have to look a "Driver's Manual Video". You rent it from the Video store,and take a test after viewing it. If you are assigned to watch this video,then I suggest you watch it!. YOU WON'T PASS THE TEST IF YOU DON'T. (In the meantime) Apply for an Illinois State ID,and get insurance on your car. Try not to do anything that will attract the attention of Policeman,and ALWAYS WEAR YOUR SEATBELT!. Be sure everyone in your vehicle is wearing a seatbelt,obey the rules,and you won't get stopped. It's what we DON'T DO,that Police are looking at.

(PS) Because this is "Holiday time", Policeman are looking for reasons to stop you!. They will recieve extra pay on their checks,if they give a ticket or arrest someone during the Holidays!. Don't give them the satisfaction! (lol).

Yes it will. When your "right to operate" is suspended or revoked in any state, it is automatically revoked in ALL states, the District of Columbia, and US possessions as well as all Canadian Provinces.

Your right to operate must be reinstated in VA before you can drive anywhere.

Of course. And if you live in IL, why didn't you have an IL license as required by law? Once you license is suspended in one state, for all practical purposes it is suspended in all 50 states. Even if you lie, and tell them you never had a license, you will have to show identification and the suspension will show up. Do whatever it takes to get your VA license back, then turn it in to IL and get your IL license.

You may not drive without a valid drivers license and if you do so and get caught things get much much worse! So with your licence being suspended then no you may not drive legally. Many do however drive anyway and hope they don't get caught. My advice is to clear up whatever it is that messedup your licence in the first place, get the licence renewed and never let it happen again. Those things stay with you forever. Good luck.

Your suspension will count in every state and province, as well as Germany, Britain, Switzerland, and South Korea.

when you apply for a license in IL, it will ask you the status of your out of state license. if you lie and say it wasn't suspended, you will be in major trouble. check with the DMV, and find out when you can get your license.
you may be able to get a restricted permit that will let you drive to work/school, and to doctors appointments or other important places, just not for pleasure/trips, or anything like that. check with the DMV, don't believe everythin you read on Yahoo!!!!!!

no, you will have to do whatever is necessary to reinstate your license.the va suspension will suspend your il license. you can drive until u get the notice, thats about it. Since your license information from IL is available to IL cops on license plate inquiries (if u are the registered owner) it will make it that much easier to get caught.

It depends on what the suspension is for; if it is alcohol or drug related yes it will be enforced within all 50 states. If it is for parking tickets or something like that no it won't.
