Yes
The graduated driver licensing program aims to achieve these great results in a few ways. First, it requires all those under 18 to start out with a learner's permit, only driving with a licensed adult (21 or older) in the car with them. Teens need to have this permit for six months and have turned at least 16 before they can move on to a provisional license.
The provisional license then lets teens drive without an adult―but not with more than one friend under 21 in the car with them. And they can't drive between midnight and 5 a.m.
The idea behind these restrictions is for the still-new driver to get more experience behind the wheel before they try to drive while being distracted by friends or driving late at night.
After six months, you can drive at night and with friends, but your license will still be provisional. There are also some cases where you can drive during restricted times, such as if it's necessary to get to work or take care of a medical emergency. |

Take drivers ed when you turn 15, then you get your permit. Then once you turn 16 you get your license. |

In Indiana you have to be 15, but you have to have a licensed driver 21 or older in the passenger seat. Or an immediate family member 18 or older. |

I live in California and in my state you can get a learner's permit at the age of 15. You have to wait until you are 16 to get a valid driver's license. The reason you get a permit is so you can learn to drive and be prepared for the real thing when you turn 16 and able to apply for you license.
You should go to your local department of motor vehicles for the laws in your state. Goodluck |

I live in Tennessee and I got my permit when I was 15. I would check with the driver's liscense department in your area. It may be different in other states. |

I lived in TN when I was 15 and got it then. That was 11 years ago, though. I don't know if the law has changed. |

In Texas, all new drivers under 18 must complete an approved driver education course before they can be licensed. The state of Texas allows the parent to teach the student using approved curriculum and materials. Teens may begin the program at 14, but will not be able to get a learner’s permit until the age of 15. |

It really depends on which state you live in since each have different laws. Most states, such as in the northeast, make you get one at 16. However, I got mine at 15½, and since you live a state south of me, it's probably 15½ as well. Start studying your driver's manual. |

Yes. And you must always have a licensed 18 year old or older in the car with you when you drive before you turn 16. |

Depends on where you live.
In Texas, you can at 15, but you have to have a parent ride with you until you're 16 or 18.
Check out the website for specifics. |

i don't know about the law in Texas but in Florida the answer is yes...but you must have your learning permit for a year before you can get your driver's license...and if you are a minor...18 years and younger...your must currently be registered and actively attending school as well as complete the 4 hour drug and alcohol class. |

It alll depends on what state you live in. For my case.. i live in VA and you can only get your permit if you pass the online test, the vison test and you are 15 and 9 MONTHS and license after you have drivers ed 40 hours of training driving w/ a parent or guardian or sibling over 18 or someone with a valid drivers license at 21 and you have to be 16 and 3 months and have your permit for 9 months you need to go to your local DMV and get that answer or search it online! Good luck and have fun driving (well tell your friend that) I love it just got my permit december gonna get my license in september!! YAY! |
