Although obviously you will need insurance - you cannot earn no claims bonuses untill you have fully passed your test!

Lee!
Yes I did and im on my dads policy.

Hi
Yes if the policy is written in your own name you will build up a no claims bonus. Dont forget to advise the Insurer when you pass the test and also tell them if you commute to work. good luck.

Yes, you begin to get your no claims entitlement from the start of the policy whether provisional driver or otherwise. Almost all companies will do this unless you have asked for a very cheap policy.

Yes, you begin earning no claims discouont as soon as you have a policy in your name.

You start earning a no claims bonus from the day that you take out your insurance policy. It does not matter to anyone whether you have passed your test or not. provided you have no accidents for 12 months you will have 1 years no claims bonus that you can use with any motor insurer on the market.

(Watch out for short-period policies with a 'no claims bonus' at the end of them - this bonus will NOT be transferable)
